Mrs. Pamela June Sutherland Cox, age 59, of Woodlawn, Virginia, formerly of Ashe County, passed away Tuesday morning, January 6, 2009 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at 2pm at Meadowview Mennonite Church with Rev. Dan Hess and Rev. Larry Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in the Tucker Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30pm on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Cox was born in Ashe County on Tuesday, December 6, 1949 to the late John Sutherland and Helen Rupard Sutherland. She was a retired CNA Nurse. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Crystal Gayle Baldwin; a brother, Scott Herne and a sister, Regina Perry. Mrs. Cox is survived by her fiance, James Perry of West Jefferson; three sons, Bart Baldwin and wife, Vivian, of Elkin, Brett Baldwin and wife, Angela, of Statesville and Shannon Baldwin and wife Simona, of Kingsport, TN; a brother, Jerry Sutherland of Boone; a sister, Rebecca Perry of Laurel Springs; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will be meeting at the home of Vance and Becky Perry, 964 Absher Road, Laurel Springs, NC 28644.
