Mr. Alfred Jerry Mahala, better known as "Jerry", age 49, of Creston passed away Saturday evening, January 12, 2013 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 8:00pm at Rock Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Anthony Roark, Rev. David Lyalls and Rev. Evan Moore officiating. Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at 11:00am at Price Family Cemetery in Creston. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Tuesday, two hours prior to the funeral service at the church. Mr. Mahala was born in Ashe County on June 26, 1963 to Alfred Lane Mahala and Norma Pennington Wade. He owned a salvage yard. He enjoyed riding horse in his sparetime. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Kimberly Ann Mahala; his grandparents, Rudy & Danford Graybeal Pennington and Harrison & Vesta Roark Mahala. He is survived by his companion, Janie Dixon, of the home; two sons, Lance Mahala and Jordan Dixon, both of the home; two daughters, Neica Mahala, of Mountain City, TN and Destiny Mahala, of the home; his mother and step father, Norma and James Wade of Mountain City, TN; his father, Alfred Mahala, better as "Doughton" of Creston; two sisters, Sherry Price, of Creston and Addrena Clemmons, of Wilkesboro; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive.
