Mr. William Wayne Jones, better known as "Wayne" age 66, of Creston passed away Monday morning, February 25, 2013 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 1:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Wes Ward and Rev. Rickey Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00-1:00pm on Thursday, prior to the funeral service. Mr. Jones was born in Salisbury, NC on Thursday, December 19, 1946 to the late William Walter Jones and Sarah Brown Belk Jones. He was a "Jack of all trades." He had many talents, such as electrician, landscaping and carpentry. He worked hard all his life until he retired and then he enjoyed sitting on his back deck looking at the river. He also enjoyed visiting the local stores such as, Woods Grocery and Creston Superette. He was a good friend to all. He enjoyed fellowship and talking with his friends. He was a member of Creston United Methodist Church . Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Anne Shulenburger Jones; a son, Ken Jones and wife, Judy, of Mt. Ulla, NC; a daughter , Beth Ward and husband, Wes, of Greensboro; his mother, Sarah Belk Jones, of Mt. Ulla, NC; two sisters, Frances Oliphant and husband, Gerald, of Mt. Ulla, NC and Becky Lipscomb, of Mt. Ulla, NC; five grandchildren, Natalie Morgan and husband, Matt, Wesley Jones and fiance, Meredith Corriher, Anna Jones and fiance, Zeb Winslow III, Taylor Ward and Ella Ward; two great grandchildren, Landon Morgan and Madeleine Morgan; several nieces and nephews also survive.
