Dewey Paul Vanover, age 77, of Creston died Sunday afternoon, May 5, 2013 at Watauga Medical Center in Boone. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 7:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Anthony Roark and Rev. Tommy Wurth officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00pm on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, one hour prior to the funeral service. Mr. Vanover was born in Ashe County on Tuesday, January 7, 1936 to the late Erix Charles and Leatha Belle Osborne Vanover. He loved to read his Bible, play his guitar and sing. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed by all. He is survived by his wife, Ellaree Pennington Vanover, of 56 years of marriage; two daughters, Marlene Lewis and husband, Tim, of Creston and Ginger Martin and husband, Tai, of Boone; a sister, Draxie Lewis and husband, James, of Creston; two grandchildren, Sierra Tuten and Scotty Blevins; several nieces and nephews also survive.
