Mrs. Esther Mae Greer Little, age 102, of Warrensville passed away Monday morning, May 13, 2013 at Blowing Rock Hospital & Davant Extended Care Facility. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at 3:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Margaret Wannemacher officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00pm on Sunday, May 19, 2013, two hours prior to funeral service. Mrs. Little was born in Ashe County on Tuesday, February 7, 1911 to the late William Henry Harrison and Sarah Elzina Thompson Greer. She was a member of the Clifton United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She instilled godly values and cooking skills in her granddaughters. She also enjoyed knitting. She will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edd Hugh Little on June 29, 2004; her siblings, Lura Osborne, Effie Weibel, Virgil Greer, Edna Sharpe McConnell, Elsie Jones, Vernon Greer, Everett Greer and Claud Greer; an infant son, Larry Little Mrs. Little is survived by a son, James Frank Little and wife, Betsy, of Warrensville; two granddaughters, April Wiles and husband, Reggie, of Boone and Beth Rives and husband, Art, of Sanford, NC; five granddaughters, Annabeth Rives, Faith Rives, Chloe Rives, Liza Wiles and Brooklyn Wiles; several nieces and nephews also survive.
