Mrs. Eula Ray Sheets Black, age 91, of Jefferson passed away Friday, May 24, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, May 27, 2013 at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sonny Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 27, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at Boone Family Funeral Home prior to the funeral. Eula Ray Sheets was born in Ashe County on Sunday, December 25, 1921 to the late Fred Guy and Bessie Jane Lowman Sheets. She is preceded in death by her husband Lonfred Black; a son, Larry Black; a sister, Nora Joncie Woods. Mrs. Black is survived by a son, Jimmy Black and wife Deborah of Claremore , Oklahoma, a daughter, Gaynell Goodman and husband Rev. Johnny of Jefferson; a brother, Howard Sheets of Laurel Springs; six grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren; several nieces; several nephews.
