Mr. Robert Carl Spencer, better known as "Rob" age 58, of Lansing passed away Monday afternoon, June 10, 2013 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013 at 2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy McClure officiating. Burial will follow in Haw-Orchard Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00pm on Friday two hours prior to the funeral service. Mr. Spencer was born in Ashe County on Wednesday, February 2, 1955 to the late Carl Conley Spencer and Sylvia Blevins Spencer. Rob graduated from Northwest Ashe High School. He worked in a machine shop. He is survived by his mother, Sylvia Blevins Spencer of Lansing; a sister , Teresa Hurley and husband, Tom, of Crumpler; two step daughters, Hava Roman of Boone and Kendra Hurley of Boone; two step grandchildren; a niece, Natasha Hilliard; two nephews, Shane Hilliard and Bat Hilliard; two step nephews, Frank Hurley and Scott Hurley; several great nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers will be accepted.
