Cecil and I were saddened to hear of Eulon's passing. Although we have not seen him in years, Cecil still talks of Eulon helping him coach at Ashe Central. Cecil thought a lot of Eulon and really appreciated all he did for the children. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. When I was transferred from the 1451st Company to the 1450th Company for Operation Desert Storm, Eulon came up to me one day after formation and handed me a Gideons Bible. He adised me that if I ever needed anything to turn to the bible for the answer and if I ever needed him he would always be there to help me. Our Capt. was walking by and I said sir, it is so nice to meet the unit Chaplin referring to Eulon. The Capt. looked at me and then Eulon, shook his head and turned around and walked off. From then on to this day I referred to Eulon as the "Chaplin". Wilma, the Chaplin will be forever missed but I can promise you we will see the Chaplin again in paradise. If I can ever do anything for you or your family, please do not hesitate to call.

Eulon was an important part of the athletics program for us at ACHS in the early 70's, and with the combined elementary football program prior to that. He dedicated his time to help out in so many facets of our experience, and was respected by us for all those things that he did. I enjoyed seeing him at some functions over the past few years and it was always with a smile that we remembered some of those good old days. My thoughts go out to the family on this loss and my appreciation continues for Eulon for his time, efforts and dedication that helped establish some great memories.
