Mr. Conley Walter Shepherd, age 78, of West Jefferson passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at the Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Grubb and Rev. Tommy Dollar officiating. Burial will follow in the Turner Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 6:00-9:00pm on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at the Boone Family Funeral Home. Conley was born in Ashe County on Thursday, February 28, 1935 to the late Walter and Alta Mae Borresen Shepherd. He was owner and operator of Superior Pontiac from 1975-2005. He was a member of Mason Lodge #594. Conley enjoyed his family, spending time and traveling with them. He had traveled thru all 50 states. Family was #1 to him. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all. He is preceded in death by a grandson, Trent Michael Shepherd Mr. Shepherd is survived by his wife, Wilma Jean Turner Shepherd, of West Jefferson; two sons, Joey Shepherd and wife, Karrah of West Jefferson, Michael Shepherd and wife Sherry, of West Jefferson; a brother, Clifford Shepherd, of Winston-Salem; two sisters , Alice Lee Poe and husband, Alan of Jefferson, Donna Mae Cameron and husband Neil of Charlotte; five grandchildren, Bethany Shepherd McElroy and husband Brandon of Wilmington, Brittany Shepherd of Winston Salem, Branson Shepherd of West Jefferson, Destiny Shepherd of West Jefferson, Dawson Shepherd of West Jefferson; several nieces; several nephews. Conley was also awaiting the arrival of a great grandchild, Caden Graham McElroy. The family respectfully requests no food or flowers please.
