Infant Caleb Wendell Stopper, 7 months old, of West Jefferson passed away Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Charlotte Presbyterian Hospital. He passed away peacefully in the arms of his mother and father, surrounded by friends and family. Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 11, 2013 at 4pm at Alliance Bible Fellowship in Boone, NC with Pastor Scott Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in the West Jefferson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3-4pm at Alliance Bible Fellowship. Infant Stopper was born in Mecklenburg County on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 to Jason Wendell and Emily Jenkins Stopper. Caleb was a fighter from birth and loved to smile no matter the circumstances. He gave us more than we could have ever given him. He continues to give after and donated heart values to other critically ill children. He is survived by his parents; Jason and Emily Stopper; a twin sister; Sarah Catherine Stopper; Maternal Grandparents; Alvin and Carolyn Jenkins of West Jefferson; and Paternal Grandparents; John and Mary Stopper of Chapman, Kansas; three great-grandparents; Smith and Juanita Leek of West Jefferson, and Margaret Jenkins of West Jefferson; and one great, great-grandmother; Delra Jones of Clifton.
