Mrs. Lessie Mae Turner Elliott, age 91 of West Jefferson passed away Friday, August 16, 2013 at Watauga Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2PM at Boone Family Funeral Home with Elder Eddie Lyle, Rev. George Grubb, and Rev. Tommy Dollar officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 to 2pm on Monday at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Elliott was born in Damascus, Virginia on Tuesday, November 29, 1921 to the late Glen Turner and Hattie McNeil Turner. She worked at Hanes Manufacturing. Mrs. Elliott is preceded in death by her husband; Bluford Elliott; two brothers; Von Turner and Donald Turner; and three sisters; Pauline Turner, Bobbie Lloyd, and Jane Brooks. She is survived by one son; Teddy Elliott and wife Kathy of West Jefferson; three daughters; Iva Lea Elliott and husband Raymond of Creston, Ima Gene Eggers and husband Billy of Grassy Creek, and Polly Marsh and husband Bob of Jefferson; two brothers; Joe Ray Turner and wife Geraldine of West Jefferson, and R.G. Turner and wife Doris of Morganton; Five grandchildren; Kevin Elliott of Creston, Angie Faw of Mt. Airy, Nathan Eggers of Boone, Elisa Miller and husband Kevin of West Jefferson, and Chris Miller and wife Tara of West Jefferson; four great-grandchildren; Kelsey Eggers of Crumpler, Luke Eggers of Crumpler, Taylon Miller of West Jefferson, and Kaden Miller of West Jefferson; two step grandsons; Robbie Marsh of Marietta, SC, and Scott Marsh of Pisgah Forest, NC; and several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will be meeting at the home of Bob and Polly Marsh, 300 Friendship Baptist Church Road, Jefferson, NC. The family request no food please!
