Mrs. Mae Eller Hale, age 91, of Piney Creek passed away Monday morning, August 26, 2013 at Alleghany Memorial Hospital. Graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 11:00am at Grassy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Doug Halsey officiating. Mrs. Hale was born in Ashe County on Thursday, May 25, 1922 to the late Jones Burguen and Ida Alice Caudill Eller. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar Peyton Hale; one son, Delmar Peyton Hale, Jr.; one brother; and six sisters. She is survived by two sons, Terry Hale and wife Phyllis of Piney Creek, and Bob Hale and wife Linda of Jefferson; one daughter, Anita Hale of Miami, Florida; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
