Mr. Robert Harold Greer, age 77, of Creston, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rex Eldreth officiating. Burial will follow in the Bauguess Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00pm on Saturday, two hours prior to the funeral service. Mr. Greer was born in Ashe County on Thursday, May 28, 1936 to the late Rueben Toliver and Bessie Patrick Greer. He enjoyed farming and bowling in his spare time. He had a wonderful sense of humor. He was a jokester. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all. Robert was also preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Greer; two sisters, Francis Brennman and Connie Baldwin. He is survived by his wife, Ginger Zahn Greer; a daughter , Melissa Brabson and husband, John, of Lansing; three sons , Bobby Greer and wife, Vickie, of North Augusta, SC, Billy Greer and wife, Carolyn, of Lansing and Tony Greer and girlfriend, Brandy, of Creston; two brothers, Harold Greer of Maryland and Elmer Greer, of Maryland; a sister , Edna Greer, of Whitetop, VA; two granddaughters, Kelly Brown and husband, Brady, of Lansing and Katelyn Brabson, of Lansing; several nieces and nephews also survive.
