Mrs. Margaret Ruth Jones Brooks, better known as "Sue" age 64, of West Jefferson passed away Saturday morning, September 21, 2013 at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 2:30pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joey McClure, Rev. Randal Greene and Rev. Ken Furches officiating. Burial will follow in the Howell-Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:30pm on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 two hours prior to the Celebration of Life Service. Mrs. Brooks was born in Ashe County on Thursday, July 28, 1949 to Danish Jones Hodgson. She was an Inspector at B & B Swimwear. She enjoyed gardening and sewing in her spare time. She was a wonderful daughter, mother and grandmother. Sue will be missed by all. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arthor Brooks and her step father, Harvey Hodgson. Mrs. Brooks is survived by a daughter, Dawn Mayberry, of Crumpler; her mother, Danish Hodgson, of West Jefferson; a granddaughter, Lilliana Mayberry; a special friend, Jack Bumgarder, of West Jefferson; a host of cousin, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survives.
