Mrs. Helen Marie Jones Roland, age 84, of Warrensville, passed away Sunday night, September 29, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 7:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Margaret Wannemacher and Rev. Larry Shepherd officiating. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 11:00am at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00pm on Wednesday, October 2, 2013, two hours prior the funeral service. Mrs. Roland was born in Ashe County on Saturday, April 27, 1929 to the late Rex P. and Annie Mary Dixon Jones. She retired from Warrensville Post Office, where she worked as a Postal Clerk. She was a loving and a caring person, that took care of all who was around her. She believed in sharing her love and in hard work. Helen was a member of Clifton United Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer and was a member of UMW. She was an active worker of the American Heart Association, the Ashe County Chapter. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Edwin Roland on February 19, 2013; two brothers, Paul Jones and Perry Jones. Mrs. Roland is survived by a son, Randy Roland and wife, Angie, of Warrensville; a daughter, Cindy Davis and husband, Ralph, of Warrensville; a brother, Leonard Preston Jones, of Richmond, VA; four grandchildren, Scott Davis, Shelley Layden, Kymberlee Roland and Morgan Roland; five great-grandchildren; five great, great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
