Ms. Selma Polly Walters, better known as "Polly", age 89, of Jefferson died Sunday night, February 15, 2009 at Segraves Nursing Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 2pm at Friendship Baptist Church with Dr. Dennis Love, Rev. Lonnie Jones and Dr. Calvin Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Ms. Walters was born in Ashe County on Tuesday, August 26, 1919 to the late Joel Edward and Hettie Josephine Little Walters. She was a Homemaker. She is survived by a brother, Bower Walters of Jefferson; several nieces and nephews also survive.
