Mr. Donald Lee Osborne, better known as "Donnie", age 56, of West Jefferson passed away Saturday morning, October 12, 2013 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Kurt Kissinger, Pastor Steve Osborne, and Rev. Arvie Lynch officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 from 6:00-8:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Osborne was born in Ashe County on Tuesday, November 13, 1956 to the late Jessie Lee and Mary Marie Hodges Osborne. Donnie attended Northwest Ashe High School. He currently worked for his son, Adam at Phoenix Mountain Property Maintenance. Donnie had a love of nature, woodworking hiking and camping. As his children was going up he coached little league baseball and basketball but what he enjoyed most was his family. He was always joking around and playing with his children and grandchildren. He loved his wife and sweetheart, Martha. He is survived by his wife, Martha Boone Osborne; two sons; Preston Osborne and wife Aimee of Alaska, and Adam Osborne and wife Holly of West Jefferson; one daughter; Amanda Osborne of Crumpler; one brother; Danny Osborne and wife Christine of West Jefferson; one sister; Lesia Cox and husband Tim of Creston; seven grandchildren; Doran Holman, McKenzie Osborne, Morgan Osborne, and James Osborne; three step-grandchildren; Nick Johnson, Kate Johnson, and Zach Walker; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
