Mrs. Audley Gertrude Bush Jackson, age 91, of Emmitsburg, PA, formerly of West Jefferson passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Gettysburg Hospital. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 11:00am at Midway Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Owen Peeler officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 1, 2013 from 6:00-8:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Jackson was born Sunday, February 12, 1922 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Daughter of George and Gertrude Bush. After education in Canada, she married George Edward Jackson in May, 1943. They were blessed with 65 years together. She became a gourmet cook and consummate housewife, traveling all over the globe with George's work. In addition to cooking and entertaining, Audley was interested in needlework, knitting, reading, and foreign travel. Her main interest was her family and helped to establish many family traditions that we continue today. She will be missed. She is survived by her children: Brenda and Dai kee Liu of Gettysburg, PA, Glen and Linda Jackson of South Carolina, and Craig Jackson of Jefferson, North Carolina,; one sister, Beverly Murray of Aurora, Ontario, Canada; grandchildren are Drew Jackson of Jefferson, North Carolina, Meg and Kesey khilstrom of Chaper Hill, North Carolina, Suzannah and Robert Johnson of Rock Hill, South Carolina, and Jay Liu of Gettysburg, PA; and one great grandchild, Jillian Johnson of Rock Hill SC She was preceded in death by her brother Huntley Bush and her daughter in law Sandy Jackson.
