Obituary of Russell Charles Arnold
Mr. Russell Charles Arnold, better known as "RC", age 90, of Piney Creek passed away Wednesday night, November 6, 2013 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November, 9, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at New River Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Jones and Rev. Charles Arnold, Jr. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with military rights.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Boone Family Funeral Home.
Mr. Arnold was born in Ashe County on Sunday, October 28, 1923 to the late Alfred Talmadge and Liza Ellen Blevins Arnold. R.C. served in the United States Navy, during World War II. He later worked as a Glass Fabricator. He was a member at New Rivery Missionary Baptist Church and also served as a Deacon. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His sweet smile will truly be missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Margaret Sawyer Arnold on March 7, 2006and a sister, Lorriane Hutchins.
Mr. Arnold is survived by four sons , George Steven Arnold and wife, Arlene, of Piney Creek, Phillip Eugene Arnold and wife, Evelyn, of Piney Creek, Russell Charles Arnold, Jr. and wife, Cindy, of Greensboro and Jonathan Gordon Arnold and wife, Pam, of Wilkesboro; three brothers, Malcolm Arnold and wife, Shirley, of Galax, VA, Melvin Arnold and wife, Peggy, of Florida and Talmadge Arnold, Jr. (Sonny) of Piney Creek; two sisters, Delphine McMillan, of Raleigh and Dorsey Pruitt and husband, Terry, of Crumpler; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will be meeting at the homeplace at 65 Arnold Ridge Lane in Piney Creek.
