Mr. Smith Leek, age 94, of West Jefferson died Friday morning, November 8, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at 2:30pm at Smethport United Methodist Church with Rev. Margaret Wannemacher and Rev. Steve Goss officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:30pm on Sunday, November 10, 2013 prior to the funeral service at the church. Mr. Leek was born in Ashe County on Sunday, March 30, 1919 to the late John Franklin and Lillie Mae Williams Leek. He retired from Sprague Electric after 22 years. He was a member of Smethport United Methodist Church. Smith was a loving and gentle husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all. He was also preceded in death by a great grandson, Caleb Wendell Stopper. Mr. Leek is survived by his wife, Juanita Jones Leek; a son, Bill Leek and wife, Judi, of West Jefferson; two daughters , Carolyn Jenkins and husband, Alvin, of West Jefferson and Betty Ballou and husband, Lanny, of Jefferson; six grandchildren, Chris Leek, Jason Leek, Erik Peterson, Charity Ballou, Lance Ballou and Emily Jenkins Stopper; nine great-grandchildren, Madeline Leek, Miles Leek, Marguerite Leek, Rose Leek, Caleb Peterson, Dakin Christonferson, Kai Christonferson, Imri Walters, Sarah Stopper also survive.
