Mrs. Ruth Bare Mash, age 86, of West Jefferson passed away Sunday evening, November 10, 2013 at NC Baptist Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 2:00pm at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Sonny Thomas and Rev. Keith Casey officiating. Burial will follow in the Severt Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel. She was born in Ashe County on Sunday, October 23, 1927 to the late Georgie Mae Bare. She retired from Sara Lee Knit Products, where she worked as an Inspector for 32 years. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Delvert Clark Mash on April 10, 2008 and a sister, Ruby McGee. Mrs. Mash is survived by three daughters, Judy Neaves and husband, Onis, of West Jefferson, Debbie Miller and husband, Allen, of West Jefferson and Elaine Mash, of West Jefferson; a brother, Willard Bare and wife, Reba, of West Jefferson; a brother-in-law Wayne Mash and wife, Beth of West Jefferson; three grandchildren, Heather Casey, of Deep Gap Jamey Miller, of West Jefferson and Brandon Grant, of West Jefferson; five great-grandchildren, Holly Grant, Jasmine Grant, Hannah Grant, Cassidy Miller and Boston Casey; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will be meeting at the homeplace at 472-B Bare Road in West Jefferson.
