Mrs. Stella Porter DeBord, age 93, of Grassy Creek died Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Margate Health and Rehab in Jefferson. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, November 17, 2013 at 2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the DeBord Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. DeBord was born in Ashe County on Thursday, October 1, 1920 to the late Frank and Zella Porter. She was a wonderful homemaker and she loved her family greatly. She will be missed by all. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lee Ben DeBord; six brothers; one daughter-in-law; three son-in-laws; and one grandson, Alan Testerman. She is survived by two sons; Roger DeBord and wife Janis of Grassy Creek and Marvin DeBord of Grassy Creek; two daughters; Hattie Jo Greene and Corine Testerman both of Grassy Creek; three sisters; June Wyatt and husband Arveson of West Jefferson, Peggy Greer and husband Irvin of North Wilkesboro, and Willa Gray Mash and husband Dean of Jefferson; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
