Mr. Reeves Edwin Vannoy, age 82, of Lansing passed away Saturday morning, November 16, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at 1:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Pugh, Rev. David Blackburn and Rev. Kevin Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Eller Cemetery with military rites. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 19, 2013from 11:00-1:00, two hours prior to the service at the chapel. Mr. Vannoy was born in Ashe County on Sunday, November 15, 1931 to the late Bower and Maude Eller Vannoy. He retired from Harrison Wright Construction, where he worked as a Diesel Mechanic. Reeves was a member of Healing Springs Baptist Church. He loved hunting and fishing, just enjoying life. He was always laughing and joking around. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Dawn Zevotek and a brother, Charlie Vannoy. Mr. Vannoy is survived by his wife, Pat Miller Vannoy; two sons, Eddie Vannoy and wife, Libby, of Indian Trail, NC and Cameron Glenn Vannoy and wife, Ronda, of Huntersville NC; two sisters, Betty Jean Phipps, of Crumpler and Shirley Pennington, of Laurel Springs; a brother, Blaine Vannoy, of Crumpler; ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers are appreciated or memorials can be made to the donor's choice.
