Obituary of Richard Franklin Yearick
Mr. Richard Franklin Yearick Sr. better known as "Dickie", age 80 of Lansing passed away Saturday evening, November 16, 2013 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Sturgill and Rev. Kermit Wilcox officiating. Burial will follow in the Haw-Orchard Cemetery with military rites.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 from 6:00-8:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home.
Mr. Yearick was born in Ashe County on Wednesday, May 3, 1933 to the late Samuel Herbert and Betty Sturgill Yearick. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. In the early 60's he was owner of Northwestern Dodge Dealership. H He was a tobacco, cattle and poultry farmer and he also was the owner of Yearick Cable TV Company.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, John Yearick and James Yearick; two sisters, Virginia Card and Maggie Yearick.
Mr. Yearick is survived by his wife, of 57 years of marriage, Castine Wiles Yearick; three sons, Richard Yearick Jr. and wife, Quita, of Wilkesboro, Sam Yearick and wife, Tanya, of Hudson and Johnny Yearick, of Lansing; a daughter, Etoyle Yearick, of Lansing; two brothers, Bill Yearick, of West Jefferson and Joe Yearick, of Delaware; two granddaughters, Erin Yearick Fisher and Chastiney Elliott and husband, Kirk; several nieces and nephews also survive.
