Mr. Kenneth Witherspoon, age 70, of Jefferson died Thursday night, November 28, 2013 at North Carolina Baptist Hospital. Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 2, 2013 at 2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Hamby officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm on Monday, one hour prior to the funeral service. Mr. Witherspoon was born on September 19, 1943 to the late Zeb Vance and Dora Lee Sanders Witherspoon. He was the owner and operator of Spoon's Body Shop. He was also preceded in death by a brother, James Edward Witherspoon; two sisters, Mary Lee Hodges and Alma Grace Paulson. He is survived by three sons; Jamie Witherspoon of Elkin, Mario Witherspoon and wife Kelly of Wilkesboro, and Josh Witherspoon of Jefferson; one daughter; Angie Ball of West Jefferson; one brother; Zeb Witherspoon, Jr. of Thurmond; one sister; Christine Jordan and husband Leonard of West Jefferson; two granddaughters, Brandy DaMico and husband Chuck of Florida ,and Chole Witherspoon; one grandson; Brian Williams of Lansing; two great grandchildren; Kayli Williams and Maddox Williams; and several nieces and nephews also survive. The family requests no food please! The family will be meeting at the home of Christine Jordan, 313 Jordan Drive, West Jefferson, NC 28694.
