Mrs. Nellie Teaster Bare, age 68, of Jefferson passed away Monday, December 2, 2013 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Lonnie Jones, Rev. Guy Testerman, and Rev. Sonny Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 from 6-8pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Nellie Tester Bare was born on Saturday, August 25, 1945 to the late Guy and Sarah Taylor Teaster. She attented Fairview Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed by all. She is preceded in death by three sisters; Joyce Paisly, Geraldine Houck, and Jessie Lou Testerman; and one brother; Neal Teaster. She is survived by her husband; Larry Jerry Bare; two sons; Rick Bare and wife Teresa of Asheville, and Tim Bare of Wytheville, VA; two daughters; Cindy Bare Walters and husband Luke of Crumpler, and Teresa Bare Milner and husband Lyn of Fletcher; ten grandchildren; Alec Bare, Elise Bare, Emily Bare, Natalie Bare, Adam Milner, Gracie Milner, Ethan Milner, Nicholas Bare-Walteres, Allison Bare, and Andrew Brady; several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to the donor's choice.
