Mrs. Juanita Weiss Cox, age 92, of West Jefferson passed away Saturday morning, December 14, 2013 at Hillview Family Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 1:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dean Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00pm on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Cox was born in Ashe County on Sunday, February 13, 1921 to the late John Lester and Maude Fay Grace Weiss. She was a Homemaker. Juanita was a member of Healing Springs Baptist Church. She was a kind and loving person to everyone. She was a great cook and housekeeper. She will be missed by all. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Scott Cox; a son, Wallace Clark Cox; a brother, Curtis Blair Weiss and a sister, Betty Hall. Mrs. Cox is survived by a step daughter , Carolyn Wood, of West Jefferson; two grandchildren, Candice Cox and Tom Cox; two great grandchildren; a special friend, Paula Bowlin and husband, Robert, of Wilkesboro; several nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to the donor's choice. A special appreciation for the care of Mrs. Cox to Hill View Family Care Center and to Joy.
