Obituary of Jack Krider
Mr. Jack Krider, age 83, of Todd passed away Saturday evening, February 22, 2014 at Margate Health & Rehab Center.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00pm on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 2:00pm at Zion United Methodist Church with Rev. Brian Cornell and Rev. Priscilla Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Krider was born in Ashe County on Saturday, July 26, 1930 to the late Van Buren (Dick) Krider and Ada Wilcox. He was a faithful member of Zion United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Jack was owner and operator of Krider and Krider Lumber, as well as a cattle farmer and raised chickens for Holly Farms. He also served 12 years with the New River Water and Soil Conservation. Kathleen and him had traveled to 46 states during their life together.
Mr. Krider is preceded in death by three brothers; Tom Krider, Charles Krider, and James Krider.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Kathleen Wilcox Krider; four sons; Kerry Krider and friend Sherry Winkler of Todd, Marlin Krider and wife Robyn of Todd, Eddie Krider and wife Maryann Dintino of Boone, and Randy Krider and wife Susan Wilhelm of Todd; one daughter; Joan Hall and husband Sammie of Todd; one brother; Jasper Krider of Washington State; four sisters; Joann Weaver of West Jefferson, Nell Eller of West Jefferson, Betty Hayes of Boone, and Irene Miller of Asheville; four grandchildren; Kelly Allen, Kathrina Allen, Will Krider, and Dustin Krider; two step-grandchildren; Thomas Dintino and Meghann Dintino; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
