Mrs. LaVera Ann Maher, better known as "Lee", age 67 of Union Grove, formally a long time resident of Todd Community, entered into rest on Thursday morning, March 6, 2014 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 3:00pm at Big Flatts Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Tim Jones officiating. Mrs. Maher was born in Rochestor, New York on May 4, 1946 to the late George and Mary Church Quinn. Lee was a longtime resident of Watauga County where she worked at Watauga County Animal Control, Watauga County Library, and Ciera Arabian Farm in Boone, North Carolina. Mrs. Maher is preceded in death by her mother Mary C Stevens of Hilton, NY and her brother Ronald G. Quinn of Hilton, NY. She is survived by her husband of fourty years; Ronald J. Maher; her step-father; Donald F. Stevens of Hilton, New York; four sons; Rodney Neuffer of Rochester, NY, James Ceratt, Jr. and wife Sharon of Fleetwood, Ronald G. Ceratt and wife GiGi of Las Vegas, NV and Robert J. Quinn of Union Grove, North Carolina; two grandchildren; Nathan Ceratt of Boone, NC and Donnie Neuffer of Rochestor, NY; and one step-granddaughter; Alexandria W. Church of Jonesborough, TN.
