Mrs. Alice Faye Miller Flanagan, age 72, of West Jefferson, passed away Friday morning, March 38, 2014 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 31, 2014 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. John Elledge officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 31, 2014 from 1-2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Flanagan was born in Ashe County on April 9, 1941 to the late Walt Miller and Chessie Miller. She retired from Sara Lee Knit Products. Mrs. Flanagan is preceded in death by a sister, Donna Stanley; three brothers, Ray Miller, Bill Miller, and Jim Miller; and a son, Pete Flanagan. She is survived by her husband; Lee Flanagan; three sons; Stacey Flanagan and wife Vickie of Crumpler, Edward Flanagan of Jefferson, and Tim Flanagan and spouse Pat of Louisiana; one daughter; Robin Calhoun of West Jefferson; one brother; Tom Miller and wife Faye of Jefferson; one sister; Betty Gambill of West Jefferson; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
