Mr. Bobby Joe Johnson, age 70, of West Jefferson passed away Tuesday morning, April 1, 2014 at Margate Health & Rehab Center. Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 11:00am at Dillard Family Cemetery with Rev. James McNeill of officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 from 6:30-8:00pm at the Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Johnson was born in Wilkes County on Friday, February 4, 1944 to the late Percy and Eva Pendergrass Johnson. He worked for Superior Paving Company. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Ray Johnson, Bud Johnson, Gurnie Johnson and Clyde Johnson; a sister, Arcile Johnson. Mr. Johnson is survived by three sisters, Sue Dillard and husband, Tom, of West Jefferson, Francis Queen, of Wilkesboro and Geraldine Cornelius and husband, Ken, of Statesville; several nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers will be accepted. Pallbearers are as follow: Allen Dillard, Keith Dillard, Steve Dillard, Danny Johnson, Benny Combs, Ovadean Combs, Bobby Lee Richardson, Glenn Johnson and Jeff Dillard.
