Obituary of Naoma Virginia Roten
Mrs. Virginia Hartsoe Roten, age 78 of Creston, the Rich Hill Community, passed away Friday afternoon, April 25, 2008 at Margate Health and Rehab Center in Jefferson.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 28, 2008 at 3pm at the Pine Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Richardson, Minister Danny Miller and Rev. Joey McClure officiating. Burial will follow in the Staggs Creek Community Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Sunday, April 27, 2008 at Boone Family Funeral Home.
Mrs. Roten was born in Ashe County on July 10, 1929 to the late Evert Church and Celia Osborne Church. She was a Homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Fred Roten of Creston; a son, Johnny Hartsoe and wife, Wanda, of Volney, VA; three daughters, Peggy Woods and husband, Joe, of Warrensville, Sue Miller and husband, Tom, of Warrensville, Bonnie Black and husband, Walter, of Warrensville; a step son, Bobby Roten of Charlotte; a step daughter, Fay Franklin of Napels, FL; a sister, Ethel Church of Lansing; ten grandchildren, Billy Woods, Lisa Mabe, Barbara Woodie, Kim Shepherd, Heather Burgess, Jimmy Black, Jennifer Black, Derek Hartsoe, Racheal Wiles and Hunter Thomas; 10 great-grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; a step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Mrs. Roten was preceded in death by her first husband, A.Q. Hartsoe; a son Tommy Hartsoe; a brother, Walter Church; a sister, Laura Miller; one step-son, Larry Roten.
