Mr. Martin Edward Sturgill, age 80, of Creston, passed away on Tuesday night, April 22, 2008 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 25, 2008 at 8pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Anthony Roark, Rev. Wayne Roark and Rev. Denton Hart officiating. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 11:00 am at Sturgill-Lewis Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Friday, two hours prior to the funeral service. Mr. Sturgill was born in Ashe County on Monday, July 4, 1927 to the late Mason Lillard and Mary Lizabeth Houser Sturgill. He is survived by three daughters, Cathy Pennington of Creston and Carol Osborne, both of Creston and Martha Sturgill of Lenoir; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews also survive.
