Mr. Walter Eugene Dove, age 62, of West Jefferson, passed away on Monday evening, April 21, 2008 at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 11:00am at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am on Saturday, one hour prior to the memorial service. Mr. Dove was born in Washington, D.C. on Monday, October 29, 1945. He served for 3 years in the United State Marines during the Vietnam Conflict. He retired from IBM after 34 years and enjoyed 5 years of golfing and traveling. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Thelma and William Emerson Perry and a brother, David Allen Dove. He is survived by his wife, Joy Roland Dove; a son, Michael Dove and wife, Kim, of Raleigh, NC; a daughter, Heather Dove West and husband, Kevin, of Statesville, NC; his mother-in-law, Pauline Roland, of Lakeland, FL; four grandchildren, James, Matthew and Samuel Dove, and Hannah West; special friends, Pat and Bobby Chamblee, JoAnne and Bill Boles, Linda and Steve Dzuba and Bob Lipe also survive.
