Helen Beatrice Francis Jones, age 83, of West Jefferson, died Sunday evening, May 25, 2008 at Margate Health and Rehab Center. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at 2pm at Greenes Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Joey McClure, Rev. David Testerman and Pastor Chuck Call officiating. Burial will follow in Howell Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Jones was born in Konnarock, Virginia on Saturday, September 27, 1924 to the late Dewitt and Lonie Francis. She was a Homemaker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jones; three brothers Elmer, Clarence and Ira Francis and two sisters, Grace Sandy and Lillie Barker; a son-in-law, Tim Barker and a granddaughter, Aimee Katherine Powers. She is survived by three sons, Rev. Lonnie Jones and wife, April and Rev. Galvin Jones and wife, Nancy Carol, all of Grassy Creek and Earl Jones and wife, Gaye, of Crumpler; six daughters, Frances Powers and husband, Jerry, Edith Davis and husband, Jerry, of Jefferson, Lillie Mae Barker and Nieta Widner and husband, Roger, all of Jefferson, Beryl Jean Johnson and husband, Wes, of Hamilton, Alabama, and Reta Winebarger and husband, Jerry of Lansing; a sister, Logene Blevins of Jefferson; sixteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
