Kenneth Burkett Goodman, age 69, of West Jefferson died Friday, May 30, 2008 at Ashe Memorial Hospital Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 2, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at the Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Goodman and Rev. Lloyd Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 1, 2008 evening at the Boone Family Funeral Home He was born in Ashe County on March 27, 1939 to the late James Mont Goodman and Daisey Burkett Goodman. He worked as a Well Digger for Ray Taylor Well Digging Company. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vanola Green Goodman; a brother, Bill Goodman; Dwayne Allen Goodman and great-granddaughter, Jaden Elizabeth Brooks. Mr. Goodman is survived by one son, Lane Goodman of West Jefferson; two half-brothers, James Mont Goodman of Winston Salem and Paul Goodman of Landis, NC; a sister, Iris Scott of Greenville, South Carolina; also surviving are five grandchildren, Daniel Goodman and Clinton Goodman, both of West Jefferson, Derek Trivette, of Salisbury, NC, Moneek Goodman and Angel Goodman, both of Tennessee; three great grandchildren, Daniel Ryan Goodman, Zoe Lynn Goodman and Meleigh Goodman; special friends, Nancy Ellison of Lansing and Debbie Miller, of Todd; several nieces and nephews.
