Mr. Vernon Edward Marshall, age 84, of West Jefferson passed away on Monday, June 9, 2008 at his residence. A visitation will be held on Friday from 3:00 until 5:00pm at the Boone Family Funeral Home. A private service may be held at a later date. Mr. Marshall was born in Baltimore, MD on July 28, 1923 to the late George J. and Nellie Marie Farrell Marshall. Mr. Marshall proudly served in the United States Air Force. He is survived by his wife, Mary Mildred Marshall; one son, Kenneth Marshall and wife Susan of Sykesville, MD; one daughter, Bonnie L. Couperthwaite and husband Gordon of Punta Gorda, FL; one brother, M. Jack Marshall and wife Mary Lou of Catonsville, MD; four grandchildren, Kenneth Marshall, Jr. of Abingdon, VA, Jaime Travo of Del Ray Beach, FL, David Matthew Ayers of Beltsville, MD and Brian William Ayers of Columbia, MD; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
