Mrs. Mary Ruth Miller Shaw, age 73, of Lansing, passed away Wednesday morning, June 11, 2008 at her residence. The family will be receiving friends at anytime at the homeplace: 457 East Big Springs Road in Lansing. She was born in Ashe County on November 4, 1934 to the late Fred G. Miller and Reba Osborne Miller. She was a Homemaker. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Lois Riley and a brother, Wales Miller. Mrs. Shaw is survived by her husband, Walter James Shaw, of the home; three sons, Michael James Shaw and Johnny Ray Shaw, both of Lansing, Gary Shaw of Crumpler; a daughter, Karen Shaw of Lansing; two brothers, Warren Miller of Woodbridge, VA and Fred Junior Miller of Lansing; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
