Obituary of Robert Jones Hudler

Mr. Robert Jones Hudler, age 74, of Augusta, Georgia, formerly of Ashe County passed away on Monday, June 16, 2008 at University Medical Center Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 20, 2008 at 2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lawrence Goodman, Pastor Jeff Nave and Pastor Steve Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with full military rites. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm on Friday, one hour prior to the funeral service. Mr. Hudler was born in Ashe County on Saturday, July 8, 1933 to the late Vester G. Hudler and Carrie Cleo Jones Hudler. He retired from the United States Army. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Dean (Jitter) Hudler and Barry Hudler and a sister, Cleo James. He is survived by three sons, Robert Jones Bobby Hudler, Jr. and wife, Pam, of Jefferson, David Reeves Hudler and wife, Tanya, of Jefferson and William Mark Hudler, of West Jefferson; a daughter, Nancy Karen Hudler, of Augusta, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Emily Hudler and Kelly Hudler, both of Jefferson, Mason Hudler and Madelynn Hudler, both of Augusta, GA, Morgan Hudler and Luke Hudler, both of West Jefferson, Kenadie Hudler and Kirklyn Hudler, both of Jefferson; several nieces and nephews also survive. Pallbearers are as follow: Mark Vannoy, Richard Hamby, Andy Palmer, David Miller, Chris Miller, Tim Badger, Chris Hudler, Mitch Poe, Kenny Green, Steve Johnson and Darrell Poe.
