Mr. Fred Henson, age 69, of Fleetwood, died Sunday night, March 8, 2009 at Watauga Medical Center. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 3:00pm at Mt. Jefferson Presbyterian Church 201 South Jefferson Avenue in West Jefferson with Rev. Billy Robinson and Rev. Tim Roten officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30-3:00pm on Thursday, March 12, 2009 prior to the memorial service. Mr. Henson was born in Johnson County, TN on Monday, October 2, 1939 to Ann Henson. He retired from ASU, where he worked as a campus policeman. He is survived by his wife, Anna Belle Hartzog Henson, of the home; two daughters, Shelley Sturgill and husband, Danny, Jr. of West Jefferson and Rachel Taylor and husband, Greg, of Boone.
