Obituary of Wade Jack Gilley
Mr. Wade Jack Gilley, better known as Jack, age 69, of Lansing passed away Tuesday morning, July 22, 2008 at his sisters home.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, July 24, 2008 at the Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ralph Smith, Rev. Julian Owen, and Rev. Charlie McCoy. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, two hours prior to the funeral.
Mr. Gilley was born in Ashe County on January 14, 1939 to the late Ira A. Gilley and Laura Powers Gilley. He was an Agricultural Farmer. He made a profession of faith in 2005. He had a long battle with cancer and was taken care of by Faye Roark. Barbara Prim was his other caretaker, he loved to see her come. He also loved to see his Hospice nurse come visit.
He was preceded in death by a brother Lee Gilley and a sister Ollie Mae Powers.
He is survived by three daughters, Jackie Gilley of Jefferson, Donna Sue Allen and Tammy Leigh Gilley, both of Pennsylvania; a son, William Wayne Gilley of Maryland; two sisters, Faye Roark of Lansing and Lettie Carpenter of West Jefferson; five grandchildren; a great grandchild; several nieces & nephews also survive.
