Mr. James Paul Elliott, age 93, of Jefferson passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2008 at 2pm at First Baptist Church of West Jefferson with Rev. Michael Lea, Rev. Ken Morris, Rev. Lloyd Day and Chaplain Dominick Gaetano officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Masonic rites. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm on Sunday, one hour prior to funeral service. Mr. Elliott was born in Ashe County on Thursday, March 12, 1914 to the late Edward James Elliott and to the late Ella Mae Miller Elliott. He worked in construction, as a truck driver. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Dollar Elliott. He is survived by a daughter, Judy Elliott Faw, of West Jefferson; a son, James Michael Elliott and wife, Diane, of Kingsport, TN; a grandson, Rick R. Faw and wife, Rebecca; granddaughters, Catherine Ladd and husband, Patrick of Knoxville, TN and Ashley Elliott, of Kingsport, TN; a great-granddaughter, Tara L. Faw, of West Jefferson; a great-grandson, Dylan T. Faw, of West Jefferson; a great-great-grandson, Jamison Taylor Faw; two brothers, Raymond Elliott, of Earling, West Virginia and Doyle Hodges, of Taswell, Virginia; two sisters, Ataleen Scott and husband Leonard, of Bluefield, West Virginia and Mildred Cepelnik, of Elbert, WV; several nieces and nephews; several grand nieces and nephews; a special friend, Tommy Little, of Jefferson also survive.
