Frederick Donald Hudler, of West Jefferson, NC, passed away on January 24, 2008 at his fathers farm in Grassy Creek, NC. Fred was 44. Born on May 24, 1963 in Royal Oak, Michigan, Fred is survived by his children Tate and Cole Hudler of West Jefferson, NC; his mother, Nan Reynolds of Virginia Beach, VA; his brother Dale Hudler, sister-in-law Debi and their children Holden, Sam and Madison of West Jefferson, NC; his brother Bill Hudler and sister-in-law Mona and their children Shane and Luke Hall of Grassy Creek, NC; his sister Deb Holroyd, brother-in-law Tim, and their children Charlie, Grace, Rachel, Michael, Bridget and Kevin. Fred died along with his father, Ron Hudler of Grassy Creek, NC; both were killed in a robbery at Rons home. Fred graduated from Michigan State University in 1988. Fred worked in advertising in Michigan before joining his father and brothers in 1995 with their Christmas tree business in North Carolina. Fred was an avid outdoorsman, and extended this passion to include a small business as an outfitter and guide for fishing, rafting and exploring the New River. One of Freds favorite activities was to coach his sons youth sports teams in Ashe County. His truest love was spending time with Tate and Cole. Fred was among the fifth generation of Hudlers to live in Ashe County. He was loved by all who knew him, and will be sadly missed. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 from 6 8 p.m. at the Boone Family Funeral Home, 2005 Mount Jefferson Road, West Jefferson, NC 28694. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at the same location. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to benefit Tate and Cole Hudler with checks to: AF Bank, P.O.
