Mr. Ralph Shoemake, age 97, of Warrenville, passed away on Sunday night, February 17, 2008 at Margate Health & Rehab Center in Jefferson. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at 2pm at Warrensville Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Nave, Rev. Rex Eldreth and Rev. Wayne Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in the Welch Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00pm on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Shoemake was born in Ashe County on September 22, 1910 to the late Fred Shoemake and Sally Welch Shoemake. He was a Cabinet maker. He was also preceded in death by his wife Emma Josephine Snyder Shoemake; two sons, Carson Shoemake and Dean Shoemake; a daughter, Barbara Richardson; a grandson, Stephen Shoemake and a granddaughter, Ruth Ann Garrett. He is survived by two sons, Cecil Shoemake and wife Mary Lou, of Maiden and JC Shoemake and wife, Brenda, of Warrensville; two daughters, Janet Stanley and husband, Daymon, of Warrensville and Carolyn Hartzog, of Jefferson; fourteen grandchildren, Nancy Houck, Judy Hazelwood, Cindy Pugh, Mike Shoemake, Robert Shoemake, Susan Stone, Brenda Glenn, Diane Smith, Jeff Richardson, Barry Houck, Greg Ellison, Beth Ellison, Nikki Norris and Allison Shoemake; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great, great-grandchildren; four step grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren; eight step great, great-grandchildren also survive.
