Mrs. Berta Raines Law, age 77, of West Jefferson, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Law was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on August 1, 1930 to the late Thadeous and Clara Mae Elkins Raines. She is survived by her husband, Archie Law, of West Jefferson; one daughter, Darlene Fuqua of Steinhatchee, Florida; two step daughters, Terri Law and Shirley Shulz both of Florida; one brother, Bobby Raines of Florida; two grandchildren, Amy and Stephen Kreiner both of Florida, two great-grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive.
