Mr. William Reece Grubb, Jr., age 71, of Todd, died Thursday morning, March 27, 2007 at his residence. Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 31, 2008 at 2pm at Mountain Home National Cemetery with military rites with Rev. Jim Rash officiating. Mr. Grubb was born in Ashe County on Wednesday, June 10, 1936 to the late William Reece Grubb and Annie Louise Stephens Grubb. He served in the United States Army. After the military he worked as an Upholster in a furniture business. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ervin Grubb and Burl Grubb. He is survived by three brothers, Glenn V. Grubb and Thomas A. Grubb, both of Todd and Bryce Grubb, of Creston; three sisters, Jannette Walker and Essie Thomas, both of Winston-Salem and Sandra Miller, of Greensboro; two special nephews, Johnny Grubb and Jim Grubb and wife, Ginger, all of Todd; a special friend, John Hodges, of Todd; several nieces and nephews also survive.
