Mr. Vaughn Joseph Eastridge, age 83, went to be with the Lord on Monday morning, March 31, 2008. He was a loving husband and father who enjoyed life and family. He will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at 8:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Owings officiating. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2008 at 11:00 am at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, two hours prior to the funeral service. He was born in Ashe County on February 26, 1925 to the late Solomon Eastridge and Emma McCoy Eastridge. He was a welder at Vermont American in Boone. He was a member at Jesus Life Worship Center in Moravian Falls. He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, two grandchildren, one brother and four sisters. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Millie (Velma) Eastridge; three sons, Joe Eastridge and wife, Mildred, Jerry Eastridge and wife, Linda and Jeff Eastridge, all of Creston; four daughters, Regina Wilson, Frankie Walsh and husband, Jimmy, Brenda Patrick and husband, Wayne, of Creston and Mary Trivett and husband, Ted, of Mountain City, TN; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren also survives. Pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to the donors choice.
