Mr. Paul Ernest Severt, age 66, of West Jefferson, died Monday morning, March 16, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 2:30pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Pugh and Rev. Keith Elledge officiating. Burial will follow in the Cox Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30pm on Wednesday, one hour prior to the funeral service. Mr. Severt was born in Ashe County on Saturday, May 23, 1942 to the late Robert Claude and Hazel Smith Severt. He retired from Skyline Telephone, where he worked as a Technician. He is survived by his wife, Annie Cox Severt; two sons, Steven Severt and wife, Pam of Glendale Springs and Terry Severt and wife, Candace, of Lillington, NC; a brother, Luther Miller of West Jefferson; two sisters, Martha Cox and Carolyn Fox, both of West Jefferson; a granddaughter; several nieces and nephews; uncles and aunts also survive.
