Mr. JC Walter Pennington, age 57, of West Jefferson died Monday morning, March 16, 2009 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joey McClure, Rev. Ambrose Jones and Rev. Ralph Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Gilley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00pm on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Pennington was born in Ashe County on Wednesday, April 11, 1951 to the late Halford Joseph Pennington and Mary Ward Pennington Turner. He is survived by two sons, Tony Pennington and wife, Vicki, of Warrensville and Craig Pennington and wife, Chris, of West Jefferson; three daughters, Laura Pennington and fiance Jody Perry, of Mouth of Wilson, VA, Danielle Pennington and Emanuel Pennington, both of West Jefferson; his mother, Mary Turner of Jefferson; a brother, Jack Pennington, of West Jefferson; four sisters, Gail Turnmire and husband, Jim, of West Jefferson, Christina Brown and husband, Ray, of Pennsylvania, Cleo Jones of West Jefferson and Jodie Pennington of West Jefferson; two grandchildren, Dwight Pennington and Samantha Pennington; several nieces and nephews also survive.
