Mr. Michael Dean Brooks, age 53, of West Jefferson passed away Saturday evening, April 26, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at 11:00am at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Dollar and Rev. Tommy McClure officiating. Burial will follow in the Brooks Cemetery The family will receive friends from 10-11am on Tuesday, one hour prior to the funeral service. Mr. Brooks was born in Ashe County on May 9, 1960. He is preceded in death by his father; Mont “Jay” Brooks. He is survived by one son; Michael Justin Brooks of Dobson, his mother; Betty Hart Eller of West Jefferson, one brother; Mark Brooks and wife Geneva of Jefferson, one sister; Deborah Brooks Tolbert of Jefferson, two grandchildren; Jeremiah Andrew Brooks and Danielle Fae-Lyn Brooks of Dobson, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
